10 Simple Ideas for Marketing on a Budget

Marketing doesn’t require enormous investments of money. It’s actually quite the opposite – most of the time great campaigns are organised on a tight budget. Don’t know where to start? Here are my top 10 ideas to consider:

E-mail Marketing

The easiest way to market your business is via email. Use your website to gather subscribers for your email marketing lists and deliver great content on regular basis. You are 6 times more likely to get a click-through from an email campaign than you are from a tweet. That makes email marketing highly effective as a communication tool!

Participate in Discussions

Forums, Q&A websites and social media groups are great places where you can meet hundreds of leads. Seek out the sites which relate to your industry and start actively communicating. Take advantage and establish yourself as a leader in your industry.

Sponsorship

Sponsoring events is great way to get some recognition and it can be done without spending a cent. Most of the time, you can just write a blog post or article about the event and be featured as a media sponsor. Check out the requirements on sites that interest you. We LOVE the new Precision Communication website to help find the right places to post on!

Social Media Marketing

Don’t waste your time posting to every social media website you can think of. Just pick one or two places where your potential clients are likely to be, and focus your efforts. You will be amazed how quickly you will get results.

SEO on a Budget

SEO is something you can actually do yourself. Write engaging titles and descriptions for your web pages, make them easy for your readers to use and you will see how your organic traffic grows rapidly. Write blog posts related to your keywords, and include those keywords in your title. Just don’t go overboard in trying to fit the words in. You’re writing to be read as well as found, so make your posts interesting and enjoyable.

Content Marketing

Content marketing is all about delivering information to people in your industry! It’s also about making your content work hard for you. Writing relevant posts on your blog can really pay off. People, who like it may talk about it in their own posts, linking back to yours. They will share it on social media, giving you more exposure. You can share your own blog posts on social media, too, so people know where to find them.

Partnerships

Partner with complementary businesses for mutual promotion – you will be amazed how many more customers you can get with this simple strategy! Set clear boundaries for your promotion so you are both winners in the end.

Contests

Contests are great for building an audience for your product or service. The only thing you need is a prize and you are ready to go. With services like ShortStack you can have a contest up and running in minutes for free.

Infographics

You can design infographics yourself if you are creative. If not, there are numerous services such as Fiverr.com that will help you illustrate any data beautifully and create viral content to promote your business. There are also sites which offer infographic templates you can customise – so you need no design experience at all!

Videos

People love videos. In fact, online video counts for up to 50% of all mobile traffic! If you think about some ideas for your business, you will probably come up with quite a few! Sit down, write your topics and get started with your first video. Not keen on being in front of the camera?  That’s ok. Try systems like Animoto or EzyVid and see what you can create.

None of these ideas are costly. All you need is an idea and a willingness to try something new. Why not choose one or two of these ideas and work with them for the next few weeks?  The benefits will be enormous.

Don’t forget to leave me a comment below telling me about your experiences. I’d love to hear how you get on with implementing some of these ideas.
